Chapter 4: Betrayal

     "Looks like we're back to square one again doesn't" I said to Raptura while smiling.

Raptura didn't bother to give me that satisfaction of a reply, he quickly got out of the sunlight I was reflecting on him and cut the thread I was using to move the knives. Little did he know this doomed him, it had moved the knives to the point where they were reflecting all around the room.

Trapped in a corner with nothing he could do Raptura tried to kill me from the other side of the room but as soon as he got close enough to me the light would be to much and would start to burn him. Just when I thought I had won I realized that the piece of the ship I was standing on was starting to fall off. Between the weight of me, the hole in the floor and the hole in the hull of the ship it was to much for it to take.

I tried to move but as soon as I did Raptura reached me and cut me on the cheek, I had one knife left but that wouldn't be enough to end the fight.

     "Looks like we're at a stalemate Raptura." I said
     "Please… I can make it through this." Raptura said in an agitated tone. "It's not like I haven't dealt with a situation like this before.
     "Why don't we finish this?…" I pulled out my knife and continued. "Lets finish this one last attack from both of us. One last huzzah who ever kills the other person obviously wins."
     "I'm up for a challenge, it'll make this fun."
     "On the count of three… one… two" I readied myself to move quickly and so did Raptura. "THREE!"

I jumped over the hole in the floor and Raptura dashed out of his corner. Raptura sliced sideways with his scythe but I slid on my knees under his blade and cut him in half.

Both halves of him flew apart from each other and lay sprawled across the floor, the pieces started to burn and turn grey. In his final attempt to kill me both halves stretched towards me in the same way he did with Aiden, but he froze in front of my face and stomach. The pieces began to crumble and turn to dust, finally they decomposed and vanished as if he didn't even exist. I walked over to Aiden and lifted him into my arms.

     "I always forget how strong you really are Elli." Aiden said to me strenuously.
     "Actually this is very hard." I said breathlessly
     He laughed. "You know I forgot you have a brain under that hat of yours."
     "I don't know if I should take that as a complement or an insult." I said glaring at him while trudging up the stairs.
     "Maybe both." he smiled and finally fell unconscious.

You know I've seen Aiden hurt before don't get me wrong, but I never like seeing him like this. Bleeding, weak and defenseless

We reached our room and I putt Aiden on his bed and left to go look for something to wrap him up  (I'm not tearing this dress up anymore than I already have).

I found my way to a first aid kit and grabbed some badges and pain killers out of it. On my way back I passed by Cakers' room and heard him on the other side of the door.

     "Those fools" he said with a laugh. "they think I'm actually on their side."
     "What is he talking about?" I whispered to myself then continued to listen.
     "As soon as this tournament ends I'll slit their throats before they even have a chance to defend themselves. Now to give them an *update*." I heard him walking closer to the door and I ran.

I got back to mine and Aidens' room, I slapped him awake and told him what I heard.

     Aiden sat up. "Well don't tell anyone this." He said. "Not even the judges."
     "B-but we have to warn them." I replied while unwrapping my dress pieces from him and wrapping him up with the bandages.
     "Hey you wouldn't let me tell anyone about what I heard."
     "Well you didn't know anything about what they were talking about. But I do."
     "No you don't. who knows maybe you heard him wrong or maybe he was talking about a board game.
     "You're just to tired to think about it right now aren't you?"
     "You guessed it." he laid back down on the bed and fell asleep instantly.
     I sighed. "You're such an idiot."
